Our first trip to Bangladesh and hopefully not our last. We booked onto the Raas Festival Tour, which was a small group tour of 16 days. It included Dhaka, the Ganges delta, the Sundarbans before heading up to Sreemangal for the festival itself and a tour of the tea plantations etc. We then returned for a last few days in and around Dhaka.
It was an absolutely brilliant tour – not just the content and the places we visited and experiences we had, but also the organisation which was spot on.
Particular highlights were the pre-festival practices we were fortunate to see in peoples homes, the hospitality of the people we met, the crew on our boat in the Sundarbans and what we saw there, however I have to say our guide Opu made the whole thing. Opu was absolutely brilliant, nothing was too much trouble, he was very accommodating and knowledgeable and an all in nice guy.
I would thoroughly recommend Nijhoom Tours.
