Sundarbans Safari

We completed a 4-day (3-night) tour in Sundarbans in early January, and it was really excellent. Everything from the early communication with Hasan (the owner), payment, and organization was great and without any problems. The food was excellent, and special thanks to the cook who prepared vegan meals for us throughout this trip.

It was a wonderful tour and I enjoyed it very much. Both places are magical – Bagerhat and the Sundarbans. Opu is an excellent guide, very versed, knowledgeable, and well-informed, and was attentive and accommodating throughout.

In Sundarbans we had a small boat, so when we visited the channels we had a small boat without engine in order not to scare off animals. All the other tours were on big boats and the trips were done on overcrowded engine-powered boats (I wonder if they saw any animal or bird).

You are in really good hands here. I have traveled widely, in over 70 countries, and I am very impressed. If you want to travel in Bangladesh, look no further than Nijhoom.

We had 7 staff taking care of us and the boat to ourselves. The food was fantastic and the staff were as kind and helpful as all of the other people we encountered in Bangladesh.

It was a wonderful mix of sights and experiences: big, bustling, often chaotic, but always fascinating old Dhaka; the historic mosques and temples in Bagherat; and a serene boat journey through the unique Sunderbans.

Every morning and every evening you go on a small boat into the side canals in the Sundarbans to look for the wildlife. This is such a serene experience! The food on board was the best we had in Bangladesh! Big shout-out to the cook, especially when you see the tine kitchen he cooks in.

After communicating with a couple of tour agencies in Bangladesh I chose Nijhoom Tours for the Sundarbans tour for our family (two adults and two kids). And it turned out to be a great choice.

I did a six-day Dhaka/Sundarbans tour in January (adding another two day tours at the front and back) and was blown away in a pleasant way just by the experience of visiting the world’s fifth-most populous country.
